A TOTAL of 15 Primary 6 students of the Berakas Garrison Religious School participated in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the school’s multi-purpose hall last Saturday.

Commanding Officer of First Battalion of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Lieutenant Colonel Aldi bin Haji Hassan, the guest of honour, presented certificates to the Khatam participants.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour followed by the mass recitation of verses of Al-Quran from Surah Adh-Dhuha until Surah Al-Masad by the Khatam participants.

It continued with the recitation of Takhtim and Dikir Marhaban followed by the certificates presentaion.

The event’s objectives were to instil love and interest among the students towards reciting Al-Quran fluently and to become well-versed in it, and also for them to complete the 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran before completing their religious studies.

It was also held to enhance relations and cooperation between parents, guardians and the school’s staff.
