FORTY-five students of Beribi Telanai Religious School were feted at the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony upon completing the reading of 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran at the Bedudun Hall of the school yesterday.

The guest of honour was Head Secretariat of Compulsory Religious Education of Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs Suherdey bin Serbini, who presented the Khatam certificates to the participants.

The ceremony began with the mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour, followed by the reading of verses of Al-Quran from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah Al-Masad by the Khatam participants and continued with the certificates presentation.

The objectives of the ceremony were to instil the spirit among the students to love reading and appreciate Al-Quran and the teaching of Islam as well as to train them to strive in seeking the blessings from Allah the Almighty as well as to instil them with the spirit of cooperation among members of school, parents and guardians.
