Ko Nay Win San, a chief reporter of Rakhine’s Sittwe-based Development Media Group (DMG) is scheduled to be questioned again at Sittwe Police Station today, Rakhine local media Narinjara reported.
“I was questioned yesterday evening about how we report our news. Their questions mostly concerned the management of our News Journal. I clarified them that we have reporters, chief reporter, executive editor and editor. They told me to come again tomorrow night at 9:00pm for question. Yesterday, one of our reporters Thet Naing accompanied me to police station,” Ko Nay Win San said.
According to Ko Nay Win San, he has been summoned to police station in relation with lawsuit against Ko Aung Min Oo, DMG’s chief editor. Recently, Ministry of Home Affairs’ Special Branch (SB) in Rakhine State has opened a lawsuit against U Aung Min Oo under Article 17(2) of the Unlawful Association Act.
“They told me that Rakhine State’s SB has opened a lawsuit against DMG’s chief editor Ko Aung Min Oo under Article 17(2),” Ko Nay Win San said.
Sittwe police station No. 1 said, “We summoned Ko Nay Win San yesterday for question and we appointed him to come again today. We will continue our investigation. Only when the investigation is complete, we will be able to notify the situation publicly. As for now, we could not say anything yet.”
