There were no Filipinos in the list of casualties in the recent car bomb explosion in the Hawari District of Benghazi, Libya, the Philippine Embassy in Libya said.



“The Embassy is in touch with members of the Filipino Community in Benghazi and has been informed that there are no Filipinos in the initial list of casualties,” the Embassy said.

The blast, which killed five, including three United Nations staff members, happened Saturday in front of a shopping mall and bank.

The Embassy said it is closely monitoring the aftermath of the car bombing.

Filipinos in Benghazi were also advised to stay alert and “avoid any unnecessary movement for the time being.” (With a report from Reuters)
