P25-K shabu seized in Bacolod 1

AN estimated P25,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in the city Saturday, July 27.

The operations also led to the arrest of two drug personalities identified as Joemarie Manalo, 31, of Barangay 21, and Elezardo Pantaleon, 60, of Barangay 29, both in Bacolod City.

Police Major Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said that Manalo was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police poseur buyer in Purok Makiangayon, Barangay Punta Taytay at about 5:30 a.m.

Police recovered from Manalo’s possession five sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P10,000, the P300 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Pantaleon was arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 led by Police Major Jovil Sedel in Purok Paghedait, Barangay 29 at about 1:30 a.m.

Police recovered from Pantaleon’s possession nine sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P15,000, the P200 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 1 and 9 and are facing drug charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
