On Tuesday, August 20, the American actor unveiled the first images of the upcoming fifth instalment in the “Rambo” saga. Sylvester Stallone reprises his role as a now-retired John Rambo, now compelled to lend a helping hand to a friend. The movie is slated for release in September.
Rambo still has some swings in him. After a ten-year wait, Stallone is back as mythical soldier John Rambo for the fifth episode in the cult franchise. The American action star has also shared the first images of the trailer for “Rambo: Last Blood” on his Instagram account.
The sequence of scenes established parallels between the upcoming film and the first two chapters in the saga, 1982’s “Rambo: First Blood” and 1985’s “Rambo: First Blood Part II.”
Still in top shape at 73, Stallone’s muscles are put to good use to save the life of his friend’s daughter, who’s been kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel. With the battlefield far behind but the PTSD still in effect, the retired soldier will have to face his demons and set aside peaceful retirement on his ranch.
Following 2008’s “Rambo,” the franchise’s fourth film which grossed over $113 million worldwide, Sylvester Stallone has entrusted Adrian Grunberg with the direction of the next chapter. The most successful chapter in the series so far remains “Rambo: First Blood Part II,” with a total of 300 million dollars in receipts.
Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adrianna Barraza, Yvette Monreal, and Joaquin Cosio will also be part of the cast of “Rambo: Last Blood”.
