PERSONNEL from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and the Brunei-Muara District Office conducted checks on two cyber cafes in Kampong Sengkurong on Wednesday night.

Sengkurong Police Station Assistant Officer-in-Charge Muhammad Marzuki Koo bin Abdullah led 15 police personnel and five officers from the Licensing and Enforcement Division of the Brunei-Muara District Office in the operation.

The checks were to ensure the cyber café owners were not running online gambling programmes or carrying out criminal activities, fraud or scams.

No offences were recorded. However, the RBPF advises parents and guardians to monitor their children’s online activities so they will not get influenced by negative elements via obscene and terrorism-related websites.
